10 Reasons To Love DC Legends Of Tomorrow

DC
Six characters from DC Legends of Tomorrow

Cult TV Show, DC Legends of Tomorrow, was dropped by CW earlier in the year, despite a campaign from fans and an appeal from Beebo for another season. If you are one of the few who hasn't tuned in, here are a few reasons you should check out one of the greatest assets to the Arrowverse.

1. A Wide Range Of DC Characters, Some On Screen For The First Time

Nate Heywood, aka Steel, and Astra Logue both made their television debut in Legends. Zari Tomaz, an updated version of the DC comic book character Isis also enters the Arrowverse because of her time on the Waverider.

2. LGBTQ+ Friendly

DisneyMarvel, and Star Wars have only begun experimenting with inclusivity, but Legends is ahead of the curve and has put pan, gay, and bi characters front and center since the series first aired in 2016. For example, the writers included an endearing relationship between two of its main characters, Sara and Ava, culminating in an on-screen wedding. But that is not the extent of it. Gary, Charlie, Constantine (and many more) all follow the rainbow flag.

 3. Beebo

A fluffy blue toy that becomes the Norse God of War. All the way through the show, you can spot Beebo merch. Gary sports some rather fetching Beebo socks, and there are super cute Beebo sheets on the Waverider. CW should have made more effort to get Beebo items into stores; we would have bought it all.

4. Rebecca Silver

The tough and fiery Mick Rory (aka Heat Wave) has a soft side. He wrote steamy romantic fiction when he wasn't stealing and burning his enemies to the ground. Rebecca Silver's books are best sellers and pop up throughout the Arrowverse. Mick eventually passes the pen-name to mega-fan Mona Wu.

5. White Canary, The Double Threat

Caity Lotz not only dazzles in her role as Captain of the Waverider, but she also takes a starring role behind the camera. Lotz has not only directed several Legends of Tomorrow episodes, but she has worked on The Flash as well.

6. Zany Humor

DC Legends of Tomorrow is one of the funniest shows in the DC stable. Prepare for anything, a killer rainbow unicorn at Woodstock, Sisko singing a full version of The Thong Song in The Hall of Bad Ideas, or a beer pong showdown with Dionysus, the Greek god of wine. The script writers do not hold back.

7. Great Performances

There's some exceptional acting in this series. One standout is Jes Macallan (Ava), who has a complex character arc and, as a clone, is often on screen in multiple parts. Matt Ryan also deserves a special mention for his episodes as Constantine and & Doctor Gwyn Davies.

 8. Crossovers Galore

Many heroes and villains from the other DC franchises turn up in Legends of Tomorrow, either for a quick cameo or, like Professor Stein, an extended role. Because of The Legends format (no set cast of characters), it's easy to drop favorites like Wally West into the team.

9. A Diverse Cast And Crew

The current team includes a wide range of backgrounds and gives the show a fresh outlook. DC Legends of Tomorrow draws from different cultures worldwide to create an engaging show.

10. History Lessons

Because of the Waverider's extensive time travel, episodes cover such greats as Hedy Lamar, Amelia Earhart, and BT Barnham. As a result, viewers pick up a few exciting titbits along the way. However, don't be fooled into thinking it's all based on real events. J Edgar Hoover probably wasn't a robot.

So if you haven't seen DC Legends of Tomorrow, now is the time to watch this special show. There's little doubt that its unique take on the DC universe will achieve cult status in the future.
