With Obi-Wan Kenobi released on Disney+ this summer, more details about his life between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope were revealed. This list contains brief descriptions of individual books and series that cover more of Obi-Wan’s life. These are all Legends material, meaning that they are not part of the current canon continuity.

4. The Clone Wars: Wild Space
Karen Miller’s Wild Space focuses on Obi-Wan Kenobi and Senator Bail Organa working together during the Clone Wars. The two men who are not very fond of each other travel to the planet of Zigoola in search of a Sith holocron. In order to make it off the planet, they will need to work together and put aside their differences in order to survive. This book helps set up the relationship between the two men before they become close friends as seen in the later The Clone Wars episodes and the movies.
3. Jedi Quest
Jedi Quest by Jude Watson covers the time when Obi-Wan was training Anakin as a Padawan. This series covers new planets, new foes, and new storylines not present in the current canon. These books add more to the story and build on the friendship between Obi-Wan and Anakin. It is recommended that you read this book after the Jedi Apprentice series, but it is not required. These books are also for younger readers, so if you do not have a lot of time to read and like shorter books or you have a child interested in Star Wars stories, then this is a perfect series for you.
2. Jedi Apprentice
The Jedi Apprentice series follows Obi-Wan as a Padawan under Qui-Gon Jinn. The first book of the series is written by Dave Wolverton, while the rest are written by Jude Watson (author of the Jedi Quest series). This series is lighthearted and shows the complicated relationship between Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon. Throughout the series, they overcome trials and tribulations, and both learn important lessons from each other. This series is similar to Jedi Quest and is aimed at a younger audience. However, its story is perfect for any age
1. Kenobi
Kenobi by John Jackson Miller takes place after Revenge of the Sith and before A New Hope. It focuses on Obi-Wan’s time on Tatooine protecting Luke. Even though he is in hiding there is a conflict between the Tusken Raiders and the moisture farmers that “Ben” has to resolve while keeping his identity secret. This book is regarded as one of the most important books to read, especially if you like the Obi-Wan Kenobi series as it expands on the show and Obi-Wan’s character.
