Black Adam

“My powers…are not a gift…but a curse. Born out of rage,” Black Adam said in the new trailer released to the public this past Saturday at the San Diego Comic-Con. Prior to the reveal, Dwayne Johnson (Black Adam) made quite an entrance as he rose from the fog while bolts of lightning flash behind him.

This trailer showed more interactions between Black Adam and the other heroes such as Hawkman (Aldis Hodge) and Dr. Fate (Pierce Brosnan). The clip kicked off with a throwback to a different time when Black Adam did not have powers. This look into his past struggles showed what was probably the source of his anger.

More action continued as Black Adam battled Hawkman in a partially destroyed city. Dr. Fate then confronted him and argued that Black Adam still had an option. He could take the path of a villain or a hero. Unlike the trailer from a month ago, Dr. Fate is heavily featured in this trailer, and it is clear that he will have a huge role to play in the movie. It will be interesting to see how things will unfold in this action-packed comic book adaptation.

Atom Smasher (Noah Centineo) and Adrianna Tomaz (Sarah Shahi) also make an appearance. From the looks of the trailer, Tomaz may be extremely important to the outcome of the film. After all, she would become Isis (Black Adam’s wife) in the comics.

Black Adam is set to be released in theaters on October 21st, followed by his enemy Shazam on December 21st for Shazam! Fury of the Gods.
