Season 6 Of 'Rick And Morty' Airing September 4th Kicks Off With A Tie-In Event Dubbed 'Wormageddon'
One thing viewers have come to realize about Adult Swim’s “Rick and Morty” is that creators Dan Harmon and Justin Roiland are not afraid of pushing boundaries to shock. With the latest season nearing its release date, the latest trailer dropped on the official Rick and Morty Twitter page offers hints as to what the latest episodes will consist of. Within the first seconds, the destruction of a large spacecraft and the arrival of a mysterious egg flies across space indirectly causing the death of a galactic snake and an innocent man parachuting. Inside the egg appear to be parasitic worm-like creatures.
Aw, jeez. There are so many enemies Rick, Morty, Summer, and the rest of the family have faced—Giant Heads, the Vindicators, Fart, and so much more. Not to mention how much the Citadel has changed under the presidency of Evil Morty. However, the impending “Wormageddon” might spell more trouble for the iconic duo.

The release of the sixth season trailer already promises plenty of pop culture references, gadgets, and weapons. With the threat of “wormageddon” added to the mix, it’s only a matter of time before Earth and perhaps the entirety of the world is once again brought upon as a storyline. Whether or not it will be a principal storyline is yet to be seen.
Taking a closer look at the picture of the egg, there is a possibility that the egg contains its own power source or acts as a conductor. Considering the destruction of the control room and the power the egg held during its journey to Earth, Harmon and Roiland could be referencing the ending of season 5 where the Finite Curve exploded since the control room wasn’t able to harness the egg’s power.
With the threat of space worms looming, it’s up to Rick, Morty, Summer, and the rest of the family to help deal with the latest threat to their world. From what has been shown before their arrival on Earth, the space worms have the potential to be a force even Rick will have to reckon with.
