Sony Adds Three New Movies To Their 2023-2024 Release Schedule

Sony announced three additional films to their lineup for 2023-2024 due to post-production holdups with several projects. The most prominent announcement is for a new Karate Kid film, slated for release on June 7, 2024. There was no mention of who will star in the movie or direct it. For release on January 6th, 2023, is an untitled True Haunting film from Screen Gems. This announcement will be in addition to Damien Chazelle’s Babylon from Paramount. With a release date of February 24 comes the next installment in the Searching franchise, Missing, featuring Storm Reid and Nia Long. Universal’s Cocaine Bear starring Kerri Russell, and Lionsgate’s Jesus Revolution are slated for February 24 as well. Adam Driver’s latest title, 65, is releasing on March 20 instead of April 28 as planned.

Columbia Pictures moved back the release of Garfield to Memorial Day weekend, May 24, 2024, from the original release date of February 16, 2024. The current release from Warner Bros/Village Roadshow’s Furiosa and Paramount’s IF starring John Krasinki and Ryan Reynolds. There is also an untitled 20th Century Studios movie set for release.

Coming to cinemas on the first weekend of October is Sony/Marvel’s Kraven the Hunter. The film stars Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Ariana Debose, and Russell Crowe. The film’s release date is October 6 instead of January 13. The equally anticipated Spider-Man spinoff Madame Web lands a release date of February 16, 2024, much later than the film’s initial October 6, 2023 release. With Madame Web on February 16, 2024, this adjusts an untitled Disney Marvel film to September 6, 2024. And lastly, an untitled Sony/Marvel film will release on July 12, 2024, instead of June 7, 2024. The last title on the schedule is an untitled horror film from New Line scheduled for July 12, 2024.
