Dee Bradley Baker is one of the most prolific voice actors in history, with 660 acting credits on his IMDb page. Baker was born on August 31, 1960, in Indiana, but grew up in Greeley, Colorado. At nine years old, he started performing in plays, musicals, comedies, and operas. Aside from the many human characters he’s played, Baker has become known for the animal and creature sounds. He got his first start on national television voicing Olmec on Nickelodeon’s Legends of the Hidden Temple. This article will focus on his roles in the quadfecta of geek culture: DC, Marvel, Star Trek, and Star Wars.

Baker started with DC in 2000 with Sunny Jim from Lobo. His most recent role is Eagly from Peacemaker. In his 22 years of service with DC, his almost 35 credits included Clock King in Batman: The Brave and the Bold, Killer Croc and Ra’s al Ghul in Batman - Arkham City, Ray Palmer in Justice League: Gods and Monsters, and Sebastian in The Suicide Squad.

His contributions to Marvel are not as extensive as DC, but they are important roles nonetheless. He voiced Morris in Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. He has also voiced such iconic characters as Hank Pym, Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic, J. Jonah Jameson, Quentin Beck/Mysterio, Matt Murdoc/Daredevil, and Otto Octavius/Doctor Octopus in numerous Marvel animated series and video games.

Baker got his start in Star Trek with the videogame Star Trek: Starfleet Command III. Now he has a starring role as Murf in Star Trek: Prodigy on Paramount+. As Murf is a nearly indestructible gelatinous life form that doesn’t speak, Baker gets to use his animal/creature abilities to make all kinds of sounds.

Star Wars is where Baker shines brightest. He voiced Ilco Munica in The Force Awakens. He is most famously known for playing Captain Rex, Commander Cody, and every clone trooper in The Clone Wars, Rebels, The Bad Batch, and Tales of the Jedi. Even more impressive, Baker voices every member of Clone Force 99 in The Bad Batch, which requires him to switch voice on the spot.

Aside from the big four, Baker has also appeared in Avatar: The Last Airbender (Appa and Momo), American Dad! (Klaus), Happy Feet (Maurice), Phineas and Ferb (Perry the Platypus), and many other properties. He has won numerous Behind the Voice Actors Awards and was nominated for an Emmy for his role as Klaus in American Dad!
