A North American Tour Of 'Harry Potter And The Cursed Child' Has Been Announced

For all of you Harry Potter fans who haven’t been able to make it to Broadway or the West End or several of the other big cities, you’re in luck! Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is heading to cities near you!
Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is the stage play that starts 19 years after the events of the 7th Harry Potter book: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows and follows Harry, his friends, and his children through a series of adventures that are perfect for the stage. It was written by Jack Thorne, John Tiffany, and J.K. Rowling and was published as a script on July 31, 2016. It premiered on London’s West End at the Palace Theater on June 7, 2016, and then opened on Broadway at the Lyric Theater on April 21, 2018, with most of the original cast reprising their roles. Since then, another opened in San Francisco and Melbourne in, 2019, Hamburg in 2021, and Toronto and Tokyo in 2022, although only London, New York, Hamburg, and Tokyo remain. It has been the recipient of many awards including Best Play at the 2017 Laurence Olivier Awards and the 2018 Tony Awards.

It was originally produced as a 2 part play, which was viewed either on the same day (afternoon and evening) or over 2 days. But once Broadway reopened after the Covid-19 shutdown, they adapted the play to fit into one 3.5-hour performance. The West End is the only production to still do two.
For those who have seen it, the play itself is full of magic, just like the world it comes from. From the costumes designed especially to move in certain ways to the magic of the lights, sound effects, soundtrack, and even surprises in the physical theater, it truly is meant to be seen and experienced and not just read. And now, millions of Americans are going to be able to do just that as the North American tour has just been announced on the Harry Potter and the Cursed Child website. It will launch in September 2024, however, the cities and specific dates have yet to be announced. The website states you can sign up to be the first to hear the news about which cities it will be coming to so make sure you stay tuned for more news of this exciting announcement!
