In the world of gaming, nothing is more iconic than the Street Fighter franchise. The robust gameplay and iconic fighting style are stuck in the minds of every gamer from basic to veteran. In recent years the franchise has not been fully successful really since Street Fighter 3 which featured the character M. Bison and then subsequent titles all had to act as prequels to make the story mode make sense and seemed to just convolute the world overall. However, in a new showcase released on April 20 with host, rapper, and media mogul, Lil Wayne, it appears Bison is gone for good so we can move the franchise along.

In this new game, you will be able to play as a customizable character which you then take yourself around the city featured in the game. Not only will you be able to fight iconic characters from the game but you will learn from them and be able to conduct some side quests to build up your skills and become the ultimate Street Fighter! Outside of the main story you can still participate in other modes like arcade (think story mode), Team Battle, Extreme Battle, Combo Trials, Character Guides, and a tutorial mode.

To a casual gamer like myself being able to create my own character and build up their skill sets in a way that is at my own pace but in Extreme Battle you can actually develop your own fight arena with weird mods to make the fight seem absolutely bonkers. But to the more hardcore gamers, there will be plenty of online options and lobbies for you to join in both ranked games and casual games with up to 16 people and you can use those rankings to join tournaments around the world including one with a million dollar prize. Sony fans can enjoy a free preview of the game showcasing the World Tour option and then all other platforms can enjoy it when the game releases on June 2nd.
