Brad Winderbaum, Marvel's Head Of Animation, Gives Fans A New Look Into 'Eyes Of Wakanda'
The world of the Marvel Cinematic Universe is once again returning to the animation industry, as Marvel’s head of streaming, Brad Winderbaum, gives us a quick look into Eyes of Wakanda. Executive-produced by Ryan Coogler, this series will dive into the history and lore of the African country, including its Black Panther protectors. Winderbaum was quick to point this out, clarifying that it would take place in the MCU and not in another continuity like other animated series. He promised, “If you’re a fan of the movies, I think this show is going to be a real treat.”
Marvel has been involved in animation for quite some time, but the success of X-Men ‘97 has led to further series being put into production, such as Marvel Zombies and Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man. Eyes of Wakanda is explicitly tied into the MCU, while the other two appear to be loosely connected at best. The series will be centered around the African nation of Wakanda and will follow it through many years, expanding upon the MCU timeline in the process. Eyes of Wakanda will be dropping on Disney+ sometime in the near future; we still don’t have a concrete date at the moment. Still, it’s exciting to see where this will go.
