Dungeons & Dragons Playgroup 'Critical Role' Set To Do A One-Shot For 'The Legend Of Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom'
Critical Role is bringing fans a one-shot inspired by The Legend Of Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom. The game will take place in Hyrule and will contain no spoilers, as the events and characters are inspired by the Nintendo game. The one-shot will stream on May 30th on Twitch and YouTube starting at 7 pm PDT.
Who better to DM than the voice of Ganondorf himself, Matthew Mercer? When Mercer announced his role as Ganondorf, he called himself “a huge Legend Of Zelda fan”. He even played Ganondorf in a fan series, There Will Be Brawl many years ago. He will be joined by fellow Critical Role players Liam O’Brien, Marisha Ray and Robbie Daymond, Omar Najam, and Emily Axford.

This isn’t Critical Role’s first rodeo doing a one-shot in a video game setting either. In March of 2022, Mercer hosted an Elden Ring one-shot, that was sponsored by Bandai-Namco. Back in 2017, they did a one-shot that took place in the world of Middle-Earth: Shadow Of War that was sponsored by WB Games.
Tears Of The Kingdom is the long-awaited sequel to 2017’s Breath Of The Wild. It was released on May 12th and is the fastest-selling game in The Legend Of Zelda franchise. Should this pace continue, it could easily become one of the best-selling Nintendo Switch games, just like its predecessor did.
