For those not in the know, Lucy is one of the main protagonists of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, an anime miniseries produced by CD Projekt Red (CDPR) and Studio TRIGGER (PROMARE, Star Wars Visions) and released on Netflix in 2022. The anime serves as a spinoff and prequel to CDPR’s Cyberpunk 2077 videogame, which became known for its poor launch in 2020, but bounced back to become one of the greatest games of the decade thus far. The anime has been praised for its emotionally charged story and dynamic animation winning Crunchyroll’s “Anime of the Year” award in 2023, beating Attack on Titan, Demon Slayer, and SpyxFamily in the category.
Perhaps Lucy’s inclusion in Guilty Gear Strive means we’ll see more collaborations and crossovers from the game in the future.
Cyberpunk: Edgerunners is streaming on Netflix.
