“Everybody’s invited, of course.” The rebels seem to be going to a party in the next issue of the main Star Wars comic series by Charles Soule. The previous arc of the comic saw Luke Skywalker rescue a family of defecting Imperials, from whom the Rebel Alliance learned about the existence of the Death Star II. Now, the rebels are on a mission to uncover more information about the battle station. To do so, they’ll need to get their hands on a rare piece of technology from an ancient group of warriors: the Nihil.

In the new preview for Star Wars #29, we see a disguised Luke, Leia, Lando, and Amilyn Holdo sneak into an exclusive auction for a Nihil strikeship left over from the days of the High Republic. The ship will likely aid the rebels in acquiring the plans for the second Death Star. Another fun bit of Star Wars trivia is that the lead auctioneer appears to be a Troig, the same species as the Boonta Eve announcers Fode and Beed from Episode I: The Phantom Menace. You can read the preview now on the main Star Wars and Marvel websites.

In addition, we also have a preview for the upcoming Bounty Hunters #28 by Ethan Sacks, in which we currently see Imperial Beilert Valance and his fellow bounty hunters, the Revengers, have a tense meeting with their boss, Darth Vader. Given Valance’s conflicted feelings towards serving the Empire, this will surely be a deadly confrontation that will shape the cyborg mercenary’s story.
