Miriam Margolyes Will Join 'Doctor Who'
British legend Miriam Margolyes has been cast as the voice of Beep the Meep in the 60th-anniversary. Miriam Margolyes has a history of bringing savage wit and comic timing to her parts. She’s an old hand at voiceovers, having worked on Mulan, Babe, and James and the Giant Peach.
It’s not the first time she’s been cast as a Doctor Who antagonist. Miriam Margoyles worked on The Sarah Jane Adventures as Leef Bathereen; a Slitheen with a green thumb, who tried to infect London with Rakweed. It’s likely Beep the Meep won’t be too serious a villain. But the race of fuzzy fluff balls has a dark side that might give the Doctor a little bit of trouble.
Miriam Margolyes joins an impressive line-up for the 60th anniversary which already includes Neil Patrick Harris, who helms The Giggler as the Whoovian villain. It can be assumed that Margoyles will be appearing in the first episode, titled “The Star Beast”. Beep the Meep originated from a 1980 comic of the same name. The series is due to be released towards the end of 2023, with speculation we may see the first of the three parts as soon as November.
