Paramount+ released the final trailer for the third and final season of Star Trek: Picard late in the second quarter of the AFC Championship between the Cincinnati Bengals and Kansas City Chiefs. It’s two weeks plus the days to Thursday until the February 16 season premiere, from which point the remaining nine episodes will roll out weekly to a presumed April 20 series finale.

This season brings Jean-Luc Picard (played by Patrick Stewart) and his more recent crewmates Raffi Musiker (Michelle Hurd) and Seven-of-Nine (Jeri Ryan) coming together with most of his original The Next Generation castmates, Michael Dorn,  Gates McFadden, Jonathan Frakes, LeVar Burton, Marina Sirtis, and Brent Spiner. Despite Data’s death in Nemesis, the series has found various ways to include Spiner in the cast over the first two seasons. Burton, McFadden, and Dorn appear for the first time this season as Geordi, Dr. Beverly Crusher, and Worf. The trailer starts with Picard and Riker meeting the new captain of the Titan, played by Todd Stashwick (Dr. Drakken in the live-action Kim Possible movie), who’s not interested in the actiony ways Picard has grown accustomed to running a ship.

There’s darkness looming, and a possible attack on Starfleet. We see Ed Speleers (Eragon) as an aide to Dr. Crusher with whom she works on worlds Starfleet has forgotten. Crusher warns Picard to trust no one. Even Riker knows the end is coming this time.
