Marvel Studios confirmed Paul Bettany's return as White Vision in the upcoming What If...? Season 3. This is a significant moment for one of the MCU's foundational characters. Bettany’s portrayal of Vision has been a fan favorite since his introduction in Avengers: Age of Ultron. Following his presumed farewell in WandaVision and brief voice work in What If...? Season 1, Bettany has been absent from the MCU.

After WandaVision, Vision’s fate seemed uncertain. Bettany teased a potential return in interviews, keeping fans intrigued about his character’s future. The reveal of White Vision in the What If...? Season 3 trailer confirms the suspicions and sets the stage for his next chapter. This announcement also aligns with the series’ significance as Marvel Studios' final project slated for release in 2024.

The trailer offers intriguing glimpses of White Vision, showcasing him in tense and dynamic moments. One scene features a confrontation with a variant of Okoye, equipped with a unique golden forcefield, as she seemingly attacks Vision. Another sequence highlights Vision hovering ominously before a fleet of armored drones, possibly experimental Iron Man-inspired prototypes.

Bettany’s return as Tony Stark’s synthezoid brings renewed excitement to the MCU, as fans eagerly anticipate how this version of the character will be explored, especially since the evolution of White Vision in WandaVision, even more so as a Vision series is slated to debut in 2026 with Star Trek: Picard executive producer Terry Matalas as the showrunner.

As Season 3 approaches, it promises to deepen the MCU's multiverse exploration. Marvel fans won’t want to miss the opportunity to see White Vision in action once more.

What If…? Season 3 debuts on Disney+ starting on December 22.
