Studios have made what they say is the “last, best, and final offer” in their negotiations with SAG-AFTRA and have sought to communicate that they do not intend to negotiate further by gathering a larger-than-normal group of CEOs together on a Zoom call this past Saturday. The AMPTP’s latest offer included a “success bonus” for streaming shows, increases in minimum rates, and protections against Artificial Intelligence (AI). If SAG-AFTRA agrees to a deal, production can likely resume in January, although CEOs have stated that they may not be able to salvage 13-episode seasons of broadcast television shows.

SAG-AFTRA has declined the latest (and possibly last) offer, responding on its X page by posting that “There are several essential items on which we still do not have an agreement, including AI,” the union said, “We will keep you informed as events unfold.” The union has continued their striking and picketing in New York and Los Angeles, although they plan to take a day off this upcoming Friday in observance of Veteran’s Day.
