The map of Fortnite has continuously been changing since the introduction of its seasons, usually with just small additions. The introduction of chapters then brought about larger changes to the island where the battle royale takes place. Now, Epic Games is returning the map to how it appeared in its earliest days in the next mini-season.

Using the hashtag FortniteOG on social media, Epic Games stated “Sprint (or Mantle, your choice) back to Chapter 1….see you soon 11.3.2023”. Sprinting and Mantling were mechanics introduced in later chapters of the game, so a recognition that such changes won’t be reversed for this nostalgic blast to the past is welcomed. Being labelled as a mini-season means this blast to the past likely won’t last long, with leaks revealing that it will only last four weeks.

This event will likely bring back players who fell away from the game, wanting to relive that nostalgia of the original island of Fortnite. So… where we droppin’?
