Trailer For Season 2 Of Adult Swim’s ‘Primal’ Released
Genndy Tartakovsky’s first return to Cartoon Network space, Primal, has its second season release in its sights. The Emmy winner for Outstanding Animated Program will return for its second season on Adult Swim on July 21. With only about two weeks until that day, the trailer for Primal Season 2 has been released.
The trailer starts with all the praises and accolades that the five-time Emmy Award Winner has received for its first season (This feat was possible as the first and second half of the season were eligible for 2020 and 2021 Emmys, respectively). It then jumps into a preview of season 2, getting into many of Spear and Fang’s new travels and landing spots. The snippets are filled with bloody and gory action along the way. Spear gets several arrows to the back, and even gets captured and caged.

The second season will debut with a double episode premiere followed by single episodes airing weekly until September 15. After the initial release on Cartoon Network, the new episodes will become available the next day on HBO Max. This schedule has become the norm after Birdgirl and Tuca & Bertie.
Primal is not Tartakovsky’s only project on the channel space, as Unicorn: Warriors Eternal is still set to premiere on Cartoon Network and HBO Max sometime this year. He is also working on the R-rated, 2D animated film Fixed for Sony Pictures Animation.
