Vin Diesel Wants This Other Marvel Actor To Join The ‘Fast And Furious' Universe

A trailer for Fast X, the tenth film in the Fast and Furious franchise, premiered Thursday night, but Vin Diesel already has his sights set on the eleventh and final film. Variety has asked the actor who he would like to see join the Fast and Furious family. Without hesitation, Vin Diesel named Robert Downey Jr. In addition, Diesel revealed some information about the final film:

“Without telling you too much about what happens in the future, there’s a character who’s the antithesis of Dom who is promoting AI and driverless cars and a philosophy that with that goes your freedom. There is somebody that believes that’s the future, and that’s at direct odds with the Toretto mentality.”

RDJ would be right at home in the Fast and Furious universe joining other high-profile stars like Charlize Theron, Jason Momoa, Rita Moreno, and Helen Mirren, along with his fellow Marvel star Brie Larson. However, it seems like Diesel hasn’t talked to RDJ about this prospect yet. When asked by reporters the star growled and playfully but menacingly answered, “How dare you ask me this question in front of all these people? I have pride and I have dignity.”

Michelle Rodriguez, Diesel’s co-star in Fast X, had a different idea when she shared her thoughts about who she would like to cast for the final film. She referenced the Jason Bourne movies and thought Matt Damon would be a great fit as four of his fellow Oscar Winners have also starred in the franchise.

Fast X comes to theaters on May 19, 2023.
