Jump Festa ‘25 has just wrapped in Japan, giving anime fans a taste of what’s to come for a lot of big anime and glimpses of new anime on the horizon. These are some of the biggest reveals and announcements from the event.
'SpyxFamily' Season 3 Release Announced
Following the massive success of its first two seasons and movie, an anime continuation of Tatsuya Endo’s spy-comedy manga was all but inevitable. Jump Festa delivered on this possibility, as we learned that SpyxFamily will be returning to TV with a new season this October. The announcement came with a new key visual featuring Anya and Bond, drawn by series character designer Shimada Kazuaki.
The synopsis for the series reads: ‘

Posing as a loving husband and father, he’ll infiltrate an elite school to get close to a high-profile politician. He has the perfect cover, except his wife’s a deadly assassin, and neither knows the other’s identity. But someone does, his adopted daughter who’s a telepath!’

'DanDaDan' Season 2 Release Date Announced
Hot off the heels of a first season that took the anime community by storm, Science Saru (Scott Pilgrim Takes Off!) wasted no time revealing that not only will DanDaDan be receiving a second season, but that fans will only have to wait until July to see what hijinks are in store for paranormal duo Momo Ayase and Ken ‘Okarun’ Takakura, as well as the rest of this series’ colorful cast of aliens, yokai, and quirky teenagers.
Based on the occult-action-romance manga of the same name by Yukinobu Tatsu, the synopsis for this series reads:
"When high schooler Momo, from a family of spirit mediums, first meets her classmate Okarun, an occult geek, they argue — Momo believes in ghosts but denies aliens, and Okarun believes in aliens but denies ghosts. When it turns out both phenomena are real, Momo awakens a hidden power, and Okarun gains the power of a curse. Together, they must challenge the paranormal forces threatening their world."
Season One of DanDaDan is available to stream on Crunchyroll and Netflix.
‘My Hero Academia: Vigilantes’ Anime Adaptation Announced
With Kohei Horikoshi’s hit manga ending earlier this year and the final arc of the anime on the horizon, fans waited with bated breath to see what’s next for My Hero Academia. While a Fall release was confirmed for the anime’s final season, fans were also met with an unexpected reveal, as Toho Animation and Bones Films revealed that they were producing an anime adaptation of the prequel series My Hero Academia: Vigilantes which will give fans a look at the world of underground and unlicensed superheroes.
The manga, written by Hideyuki Furuhashi and illustrated by Betten Court, made its debut in 2016, producing 15 volumes before coming to a close in 2022. The synopsis for the series reads:
‘Koichi Haimawari couldn’t make the cut to become an official hero, so he uses his modest Quirk to do good deeds in his spare time. Then, one day, a fateful encounter with some local thugs leads him to team up with two other unlikely heroes. None of them really know what they’re doing, but they’ve got the courage—or foolishness—to try. But they soon discover fighting evil takes more than just being brave…’
My Hero Academia: Vigilantes will hit TV screens in Japan this April. As of now, there is no word on a streaming release. All seven seasons of My Hero Academia are streaming on Crunchyroll and Hulu.

'Jujutsu Kaisen' Hidden Inventory Movie And Culling Game Arc Teased
With the manga by Akutami Gege also coming to an end this year, fans have been eager for news on the Jujutsu Kaisen anime following the announcement of its third season at last year’s Jump Festa. While MAPPA has yet to reveal when fans can expect Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3, they did share a new key visual for the ‘Culling Game’ arc, confirming that the season is in production.
Additionally, while it was previously announced that a ‘Hidden Inventory/Premature Death’ compilation movie was on the way, fans got confirmation that the film will hit Japanese theaters on May 30th. The Hidden Inventory Arc was originally released as part of Season 2 and focuses on best friends-turned-enemies Satoru Gojo and Suguru Geto during their time at Jujutsu High.
All two seasons of Jujutsu Kaisen are available to stream on Crunchyroll.
'Chainsaw Man The Movie: Reze Arc' Trailer Revealed
Two years have passed since Chainsaw Man last graced our screens, and while last Jump Festa, we learned the series would be coming to the big screen, this year MAPPA dropped a full trailer for the Chainsaw Man The Movie: The Reze Arc movie.
This movie will adapt the ‘Bomb Girl’ arc of Tatsuki Fujimoto’s critically acclaimed manga, and the trailer delivers all of the emotions and manic energy the series has become synonymous with. However, eagle-eyed fans may notice that the characters and animation look a bit different compared to the first season. With Season One director Ryu Nakayama leaving MAPPA to start his own studio earlier this year, the baton has been passed to Tatsuya Yoshihara. With a slightly simpler art style reminiscent of Fujimoto’s original artwork and more saturated colors added to the chaotic action, this new approach promises to inject new life into the anime while still retaining the cinematic flare that defined Nakayama’s approach to the series.
Chainsaw Man The Movie: The Reze Arc hits Japanese Theaters in 2025. As of now, there is no word on an international release. Chainsaw Man Season One is available to stream on Crunchyroll and Hulu.

'Attack On Titan: The Last Attack' US Release Date Announced
Amidst the madness of Jump Festa, Crunchyroll and Sony Pictures announced that the compilation movie Attack On Titan: The Last Attack will be getting an international release following its Japanese debut this past November.
The Last Attack is a theatrical cut of the hit anime’s final two episodes, which aired in 2023, with some additional scenes added in the mix. The synopsis reads:
Attack on Titan: The Last Attack brings together the last two episodes of the highly acclaimed anime series in the franchise’s first-ever theatrical experience, delivering the epic finale in a colossal-sized omnibus film.
Humanity lived quietly behind massive walls built to protect themselves from the threat of monstrous creatures called Titans. Their century of peace was shattered by an attack on their city that left a young child, Eren Yeager, motherless and vowing revenge on the Titans.
Years after joining the Survey Corps, Eren finds himself facing a deadly foe and ultimately gaining a special ability that unveils a new truth about the world he knows…
After venturing beyond the walls and being separated from his comrades, Eren finds himself inspired by this new truth and plots the “Rumbling,” a terrifying plan to eradicate every living thing in the world. With the fate of the world hanging in the balance, a motley crew of Eren’s former comrades and enemies scramble to halt his deadly mission. The only question is, can they stop him?’
Attack on Titan: The Last Attack hits US Theaters for one day only on February 10th. Attack on Titan is available to stream in its entirety on Netflix and Hulu.
‘One Piece’ Anime Returns in 2025 With a New Voice
For the first time since its debut in 1999, One Piece announced an extended hiatus beginning in October 2024. The hiatus began with the special episode ‘One Piece Fan Letter,’ after which a remastered version of the ‘Fish Man Island Saga’ aired instead of new episodes.
The One Piece event at Jump Festa would be a fairly emotional one. With the recent announcement of voice actor Kazuki Yao’s retirement, it meant that his character, Franky, would be without a voice actor. Toei would use their panel to not only honor and celebrate Yao’s retirement but also reveal that actor Subaru Kimura would be picking up the trunks in his place.
Additionally, the panel would confirm that One Piece will return with new episodes on April 5th, 2025, resuming the Egghead Arc that first began earlier this year.
One Piece is available to stream on Crunchyroll and Netflix.
'Kaiju No. 8' Season Two Release Date Revealed
Kaiju No. 8 took the anime world by storm with its debut earlier this year. While fans have long known a second season is on the horizon, we’d get an official window at Jump Festa, along with a new key visual for the upcoming arc.
The synopsis for Kaiju No. 8 reads:
‘In a world plagued by creatures known as Kaiju, Kafka Hibino aspired to enlist in The Defense Force. He makes a promise to enlist with his childhood friend, Mina Ashiro. Soon, life takes them in separate ways. While employed cleaning up after Kaiju battles, Kafka meets Reno Ichikawa. Reno's determination to join The Defense Force reawakens Kafka's promise to join Mina and protect humanity.’
Kaiju No. 8 returns to TV screens in July 2025. Season One is available to stream on Crunchyroll.
