After 20 Years, Jodie Benson Has Been Revealed As The Voice Of Eva In 'Metal Gear Solid 3'
Just like Eva from Metal Gear Solid 3 had the disguise of Tatiana and several secrets hidden from the player, her English voice actress has been hidden from us, known only by the pseudonym “Suzetta Miñet”. Though some fans had guessed her true identity, it was not until the latest episode of Konami’s Metal Gear Solid Legacy Series on YouTube that the publisher confirmed her true identity: Jodi Benson. Appearing next to David Hayter (Naked Snake) and Lori Alan (The Boss), Benson confirmed that it was she who was the voice of the secretive, seductive spy in Hideo Kojima’s Cold War era game.
Beginning her career on Broadway, Jodi Benson is more well known for her voiceover work, including Ariel in The Little Mermaid, Patsy and Jane Doe in Camp Lazlo, and Barbie in the Toy Story movies. These titles were mostly family-friendly fare, which is why MGS3’s voice director, Kris Zimmerman Salter, sat down with Benson and convinced her to use a pseudonym. The name “Suzetta Miñet” actually comes from a dog Benson once owned, who was called “Suzette Monet”. Though this is the first direct confirmation, some people had already figured it out, as Benson recalls signing her autograph on a copy of the game. Benson will likely be returning to record some new dialogue for the Metal Gear Solid Delta remake.
