The British Academy of Film And Television Arts (BAFTA) has a new member for its fellowship. Warwick Davis, known for his roles of Wicket the Ewok in the Star Wars franchise, Professor Filius Flitwick in the Harry Potter franchise, and the titular role in the 1988 film Willow, will be joining the fellowship on February 16.

Away from the spotlight, Davis has shown passion for helping people. He is the founder of Willow Management, which represents talent that is below 5 feet tall, or more than 7 feet tall. Davis, who himself has spondyloepiphyseal dysplasia congenita, which is a rare form of dwarfism, is now an advocate for people with the condition. He is also co-founder of Little People UK, a charity that supports, gives guidance, and community for people with dwarfism, as well as their family and friends.

“The Fellowship, to me, embodies the spirit of inclusivity, creativity, and collaboration that BAFTA stands for. This recognition is not just about the body of work I’ve contributed but also about the people who’ve stood by me and the audiences who have made this journey worthwhile,” said Davis of receiving this offer. “I accept this Fellowship in honor of everyone living with dwarfism or any form of difference, reminding us that our uniqueness can be our greatest asset.”
