'Batman: Arkham' Trilogy Coming To Nintendo Switch...Finally
Nintendo fans are rejoicing as Rocksteady’s Batman Arkham Trilogy arrives on the Nintendo Switch this fall. The news broke on Nintendo Direct, including footage from all three games: Batman: Arkham Asylum, Arkham City, and Arkham Knight. This is the first time any Rocksteady game will appear on the Nintendo Switch; however, the game trilogy is available on the short-lived Wii U.
Throughout the years, the games have earned critical acclaim for the game's stealthy gameplay, plot twist, and an exceptional cast of voice actors. Mark Hamill voices the Joker as he did during the Batman: The Animated Series and Kevin Conroy voices the famed Dark Knight. This game series was Kevin Conroy's final performance as Bruce Wayne before he passed away in 2022 from cancer.
The first game in the series, Batman: Arkham Asylum, debuted in 2009 and was an immediate hit. The entire landscape of the game happens within Arkham Asylum, and players, as Batman, battle several villains to try to regain control of the facility. The sequel, Batman: Arkham City, was released in 2010 and kept a similar gameplay style; however, the city was within a prison city filled with similar villains from Batman’s catalog. The final installment, Batman: Arkham Knight, allowed users to utilize the Batmobile during chase scenes in the game.
Rocksteady is developing a spinoff game of sorts entitled Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League.
Batman: Arkham Trilogy releases on Nintendo Switch this fall.
