The 'Secret Invasion' Opening Credits Used AI And The Studio Claims That It Didn't Take Any Artists Jobs
As the future of many industries is up in the air due to AI, Disney is jumping in head first and taking advantage of the technology.
“We would talk to them about ideas and themes and words, and then the computer would go off and do something. And then we could change it a little bit by using words, and it would change,” said executive producer Ali Selim of the title sequence of Secret Invasion, the new Marvel show starring Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury.
The series, which had its pilot episode released to Disney+ on Wednesday, had its opening sequence made by AI. “AI is just one tool among the array of tool sets our artists used. No artists’ jobs were replaced by incorporating these new tools; instead, they complemented and assisted our creative teams,” reads an official statement that was sent to The Hollywood Reporter.
Secret Invasion is currently being rolled out with new releases Wednesday. So far, only the first episode of the series has been released. When completed, the series will consist of 6 episodes and is about Fury attempting to stop an invasion by the Skrulls. It is Samuel L. Jackson’s first major appearance since the snap was reversed in Avengers: Endgame.
