Insomniac Games Has Reportedly Been Targeted By Hackers
As cyber security becomes a bigger and bigger deal, we learn that everyone is vulnerable. Despite being a large technologically adept company, Insomniac has been targeted by a group of hackers who claim to have employee’s personal information.
"We are aware of reports that Insomniac Games has been the victim of a cyber security attack," a Sony representative told IGN. "We are currently investigating this situation. We have no reason to believe that any other SIE or Sony divisions have been impacted."

In addition to the personal information claimed to be held, the hackers also say that they have footage from the company’s upcoming game Marvel’s Wolverine. This includes screenshots and character art. They also claim to have employee documents, passwords, internal e-mails, and further vital information of many employees, including Yuri Lowenthal, who voices the character of Peter Parker.
Rhysida, the hacking group behind the attack, has stated that they have a 50 bitcoin bid (2 million dollars), and said to Insomniac that they have a week to respond. Insomniac has yet to respond to the claim.
Insomniac also claims to have an unannounced game in the works in addition to Marvel’s Wolverine. No details have been released about the new game.
