Linda Cardellini Returns To The MCU In A New Role In 'Guardians Of The Galaxy Volume 3'
There are only a few days to go before the premiere of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 where James Gun will leave his last imprint on the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) before heading over to the DC universe. This movie will also send off a few Marvel characters as another chapter closes. While we do not have a full picture of the film’s plot, a recently released clip shows us a return of an actress from previous MCU films, but not in the way you would think.
Gunn confirms that actress Linda Cardellini, who previously played Laura Barton (the wife of Hawkeye) in Avengers: Age of Ultron, Avengers: Endgame, and Disney+’s Hawkeye, will voice Lylla the Otter in the upcoming Guardians film. The inclusion of Lylla in the movie seems to support the notion that this movie will be a swan song for Rocket as he reunites with his “best friends.” Rocket’s friends will also include Teefs the Walrus (played by Asim Chaudhry of People Just Do Nothing), and Floor the Rabbit (played by Mikaela Hoover from The Suicide Squad).

James Gunn further elaborates on the exclusive clip in his interview with Collider:
“They’re best friends… and I think it's a really beautiful scene with them… where they talk about going outside into the sky, in the world, which they've never experienced.”
From this emotional scene, it looks like the audience may have to grab some tissues as they see Rocket’s story unfold.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 premieres in theaters on May 5th, 2023.
