Lionsgate Locks In Multi-Year Deal With Prime Video
Lionsgate has just finalized a deal with Prime Video where the streaming service will be showing their movies. This deal gives Prime an early window to Lionsgate's movies in 2026 after STARZ’s deal expires. This deal will also include a handful of films from the 2025 slate and a commitment to licensing library movies and TV. This deal will last for several years and will include titles such as John Wick, Twilight, Divergent, Saw, Nurse Jackie, and Weeds, among several others. This deal will supplement Prime’s growing slate of programming on the service, and will itself likely grow over the coming years.
Brad Beale, Vice President of Worldwide Licensing and Distribution for Prime Video, stated about the deal, “We know that Prime members love great movies, and as a first-stop entertainment destination, we are excited to bring Lionsgate’s terrific slate of entertaining films to Prime Video soon after their theatrical release. The combination of Lionsgate’s films along with the exciting premium entertainment from Amazon MGM Studios and our studios partners ensure that Prime Members will always have something compelling to stream, directly on Prime Video.” Future deals similar to this are likely pending, but for now, we can only speculate. Further updates can be found on the site.
