Netflix Announces Reboot Of 'Little House On The Prairie'
It seems the Ingalls family from Laura Ingalls Wilder’s iconic book series, Little House on the Praire, will receive a reboot series on Netflix. CBS Studios and Anonymous Content are spearheading the show based on Wilder’s third book in the series. The story will follow the beloved Charles and Caroline Ingalls, along with their daughters Laura and Mary, interacting with the Osage tribe in Kansas.
The original series aired from 1974 to 1983 on NBC and started Michael Landon as Charles Ingles, Karen Grassle as Caroline, and Melissa Gilbert and Melissa Sue Anderson as Laura and Mary. Netflix made this announcement on Wednesday just as a recent Nielsen study of television programming placed the original series as one of the top “legacy” shows streamed throughout 2024, to which 13.3 billion minutes were viewed.
