One of the surprise hits of the last ten years or so was the Daredevil TV show. Centered by a flawless performance from Charlie Cox, the show was well-written, engaging, had amazing fight scenes, and was gritty and grounded. While we never got a fourth season, we’ve always wanted more. Well, we’re getting our wish.
In 2023, filming began for a new Marvel Daredevil series: Daredevil: Born Again. To the doubtless delight of fans, Cox will be returning to the title role, as well as Vincent D’Onfrio and Jon Bernthal as Kingpin and The Punisher. We’re also seeing the return of Elden Henson and Deborah Ann Woll as Foggy Nelson and Karen Page, respectively.
Initially, eighteen new episodes were ordered, but things changed when the showrunner was replaced, and now the eighteen episodes have been split into two seasons a la Squid Game. By all accounts, the show will be just as brutal as the original series, which will be a treat for fans who don’t want to see these characters neutered.

With the first season set, the production of season 2 is already well in the works. However, unlike everything we know about the first season, everybody is keeping information about the second season close to their chests, which is a great way to go about it. So far it looks like we’re getting the serial killer Muse, who uses human blood to create artwork. Executive producer Sana Amanat said of Muse: "He is a darker character. Those are some dark episodes for sure. I would warn people to be very mindful of any kind of triggers there because Muse is a serial killer. He is not a good guy by any means, but some of the sequences with him are pretty compelling and creepy."
Rumors are also swirling that we’ll see a return of Elektra, played by Elodie Yung in the previous Netflix run, as well as the shadowy ninja clan Hand. There are also murmurings that we could see Jessica Jones, Iron Fist, and Luke Cage.
Whatever we get for the show, we’re sure to be in for a treat. The original Daredevil show was one of the most beloved on Netflix during its heyday. It will be awesome to have it back.
The first episode is set to come out on March 5th, 2025.
