It's not unusual for a Disney+ season to premiere with two episodes. Season 2 of Andor will air with even three on April 22 and now fans will have to wait a little less until the return of the yet-to-be agent of the Rebel Alliance.

In a press release, highlighting April's new releases, Disney has confirmed that the first of 12 new episodes, comprising the second and last season of Andor, will premiere at 6 pm PT, directly followed by two more on this evening.

While Star Wars shows on Disney+ have traditionally been released at midnight for quite some time, the company has moved this timeslot forward 6 hours for its most recent shows, The Acolyte and Skeleton Crew.

Together with the confirmation of the premiere time, Disney has released a short synopsis of Andor's second season, highlighting again the critical acclaim of the show:

"Lucasfilm’s Emmy®-nominated thriller “Andor,” returns for its long-awaited conclusion on April 22. The second season takes place as the horizon of war draws near and Cassian becomes a key player in the Rebel Alliance. Everyone will be tested and, as the stakes rise, the betrayals, sacrifices and conflicting agendas will become profound. Rife with political intrigue and danger, the series is a prequel to “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story,” which portrayed a heroic band of rebels who steal the plans to the Empire’s weapon of mass destruction—The Death Star—setting the stage for the events of the original 1977 film. “Andor” sets the clock back five years from the events of “Rogue One” to tell the story of the film’s hero, Cassian Andor, and his transformation from disinterested, cynical nobody into a rebel hero on his way to an epic destiny."

The pattern of releasing three weekly episodes will continue for the rest of the season. Each "trilogy” will tell one cohesive story, covering just a few days in the growing struggle between the Empire and the rebels. There will be a time jump of roughly one year between each story, leading directly into the beginning of Rogue One.
