New Trailer For ‘Mobile Suit Gundam SEED FREEDOM' Released, Revealing Cast And Crew
Mobile Suit Gundam SEED FREEDOM is the sequel to Mobile Suit Gundam SEED DESTINY from 2004 and is part of a much larger project, announced back in 2021. It is intended to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the release of the original anime. Additionally, the initiative includes a Mobile Suit Gundam SEED game as well as a side-story manga titled, Gundam SEED ECLIPSE. A second brief promotional trailer for the upcoming film was released earlier this week gifting fans a taste of beloved characters returning from the television series as well as the movie that came before it.
The trailer opens with classic anime-style imagery. The lead-in begins with a vivid blue water scene. The year is Cosmic Era 75. “Born because it was wanted…Wanted by the world.” The blue background is replaced with bright orange. “We can’t protect anything…” The landscape changes once again to a blue sky with trees and a young girl whose voice embodies innocence. “He’s kindhearted. He really is…” A dark ominous scene replaces the innocent girl with pink hair as a battlefield comes into focus. With flames in the background, robotic soldiers exchange laser fire. Officials discuss in an office that, “There are two sides to everything.” A woman sits between guards and asks, “How long will you keep doing this? People forget. And then they repeat. Why don’t you understand?!” As the scenes rapidly fade out to the title screen the parting message – “Kira, hold it! Don’t do it, Kira! Please stop him, Stop Kira”
Mobile Suit Gundam SEED FREEDOM is currently in production and is slotted for cinematic release in Japan on Friday, January 26, 2024.
