Skeleton Crew has just wrapped up season 1, so we will be avoiding spoilers as much as we can. One recurring plot element, “The Great Work”, actually connects to an older era of the Republic. During an interview between Maggie Lovitt from Collider and co-creators Jon Watts and Christopher Ford, the question of whether or not the Great Work was related to Lina Soh’s Great Works from The High Republic was brought up, and they confirmed that it was. No definitive connection was made, it still connects the series to the older period of Galactic history. If nothing else, Watts states that they came from the same place, in idea if not in creation.

Skeleton Crew takes place during the New Republic era, between the Galactic Civil War and the destruction of Hosnian Prime. The show is a coming-of-age story centered around a group of kids on At Attin as they end up lost in the greater galaxy on an adventure with Force-sensitive pirate Jod Na Nawood. The show was well received by fans, and just wrapped up its first season. Ideas for season one have already been drafted, but nothing has been confirmed at the moment. Until we get some confirmation about a second season, we’ll be returning to the unknown regions of the internet.
