Sony Pictures’ Kraven the Hunter (2024) may be the last of Sony’s Spider-Man Universe films for a while. An unnamed leading talent agent spoke to The Wrap, stating that Sony “developed what they want to develop for now,” and that “it’s really about the next Spider-Man film.” There are several films held in various stages of development from Sony; the untitled fourth installment of Tom Holland’s Spider-Man and the next Spider-Verse installment have the most concrete future. The television series Spider-Noir appears to have a future at this time. The titular character’s connection to the highly successful animated Spider-Verse films, on top of being a variant of the webslinger, provides a solid foundation of interest from fans.

Kraven the Hunter will reportedly be playing at 3.2K theaters, a lower number than other Sony Spider-Man films. According to Variety, its opening revenue numbers are projected to be between $13 million and $15 million; for comparison, Madame Web (2024) made about $15.3 million over the normal weekend and is considered to be the worst-performing of Sony’s Spider-Man Universe films.
