Cable TV just got more interesting: the 11 live-action Star Wars movies are coming to a broader network range in a new deal forged between Disney and Warner Bros. Discovery-owned Turner Networks. These companies will be sharing the cable broadcasting rights for the films, the deal itself being multi-year and reportedly scheduled to end at the same time for both companies. Disney-owned networks include ABC, Freeform, and FX; Turner Networks-owned channels include TNT and TBS. Essentially, these companies can both schedule to broadcast the films on their respective cable networks.

Turner Networks previously owned the cable rights to 10 of these films, with Fox holding the contract for Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope (1977). Disney acquired Fox in 2019, shifting the film under the Disney umbrella at the time. The other ten movies included, in order of release, are The Empire Strikes Back, Return of the Jedi, The Phantom Menace, Attack of the Clones, Revenge of the Sith, The Force Awakens, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, The Last Jedi, Solo: A Star Wars Story, and The Rise of Skywalker.

These movies are still available on the Disney+ platform; that availability hasn’t changed with this deal. Several Star Wars movies are reportedly still in development, though further details have yet to be announced. If movies aren’t your style, Disney+ has plenty of Star Wars shows as well, and several more are slated for a future release.
