Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League may very well go down as one of the biggest failures in the history of video games. When it was announced, there was a lot of hype around it. A video game where you play as the Suicide Squad and fight Batman and Superman? Awesome! But, like the actual burger you get at McDonald’s vs what’s shown in the picture, it was a major disappointment. Its well-received story couldn’t make up for its repetitive gameplay and poor mechanics, and gamers responded accordingly, with under a thousand players playing on Steam as of this writing. Four seasons of new content couldn’t save the game, and now the developers feel like it’s time.

Developer Rocksteady has decided to pull the plug on the game starting early next year. Come January, it will cease support for the game. It will still have co-op play with friends, offline play, and previous season content will still be available, but nothing further will be made for the game. Any online features will likely cease in the future.

When one thinks of giant disasters for a video game, it’s easy to put Suicide Squad on the list of one of the biggest. Hopefully, the next Batman game will be better received, and it’s good that the players who do enjoy the game will still be able to play it.
