Tee Lopes Will Contribute To The Music For 'Sonic Superstars'
Sonic Superstars is shaping up to be a true love letter to the classic 16-bit Sonic titles of the 90s. It has received an overwhelmingly positive reception from critics and fans alike who have gotten a chance to play it at Summer Game Fest. However, Sonic fans, in particular, are particularly excited about this news. Jun Senoue is set to be the lead music director for the title, but famed chiptune artist Tee Lopes has confirmed that they will be contributing music to the game as well. This was confirmed in a tweet posted by the artist.
Tee Lopes has previously contributed to the music for Sonic Mania in addition to the racing title Team Sonic Racing. The music artist is known for their faithfulness to the sound and aesthetic of the 16-bit Genesis games, so having them onboard should mean that the music will be close and faithful to that era. Some, however, feel the music may be too stuck in the past and want them to at least move from the fourth to the fifth generation by having the music sound more like Sonic titles on the SEGA Saturn. Others just want Senoue to focus on making the music good rather than try to focus on trying to sound like the Genesis titles.
Despite this, Tee Lopes is certainly a welcome addition to Sonic Superstars, which speeds onto all major consoles this fall.
