The Link Between 'The Penguin' And 'The Batman 2'
The Penguin recently concluded its stellar run with "A Great or Little Thing", and many fans may already be turning their minds to whatever follow-up will be released for the series. While a second season is possibly on the cards (though it may take some time to be approved), The Batman Part II is next on the slate, and the show’s finale likely planted two seeds for what we will see in that upcoming film.
WARNING: This article contains major spoilers for The Penguin series.
The first seed is the fate of Sofia Falcone, played by Cristin Milioti. Sitting in her cell in Arkham, defeated by Oz Cobb, she receives a letter from Selina Kyle, played by Zoë Kravitz in The Batman. The letter acknowledges that the two characters are half-sisters, with Selina hoping to connect, which may lead to something significant in The Batman Part II. There could be an Arkham breakout plotline, or Selina visiting Sofia might result in some change in events playing out outside of the asylum.

The other major hint was the appearance of the Bat Signal as Oz Cobb celebrates in his penthouse after his crime war has successfully put him on top. Showrunner Lauren LeFranc stated that the appearance of the Bat Signal was meant "to launch into Matt's second film." Matthew Reeves himself, in a prior interview, also noted that Oz will be an entry point into The Batman Part II, suggesting the character and Robert Pattinson’s Batman might collide early on in that film.
Just what other connections or hints at the future of this new Batman franchise The Penguin had in its run will likely only be revealed with the arrival of The Batman Part II, which currently aims for an October 2nd, 2026 release date.
