Tony Gilroy Reveals 'Andor' Season 2 Directors
With the season two premiere of Andor just a few months away, fans are eagerly awaiting updates on the continued story. In an interview with Collider, Tony Gilroy previously revealed the fresh slate of directors. He stated that Janus Metz, Ariel Kleiman, and Alonso Ruizpalacios were to direct several episode blocks; the blocks they were specifically in charge of now seem clearer.
According to IMDb, Kleiman directed episodes one through three and 10 through 12, Ruizpalacios directed episodes five and six, and Metz took the helm of episodes seven through nine; as no one is named for episode four, this list could shift. Kleiman is well-known for several episodes of The Resort and an episode of Yellowjackets. Ruizpalacios is known most recently for his film La Cocina (2024), as well as several episodes of Outer Range and Here on Earth. Metz is known for projects such as All the Old Knives (2022), several episodes of ZeroZeroZero, and an episode of True Detective. All three directors have varied backgrounds and experiences both on television and movie projects. This season’s episodes will be structured quite differently compared to the first. While the first season was contained to one year, the second will stretch over four years into 1 BBY. The episodes will be split into four blocks focusing on key details from each year, eventually leading into Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (2016).
