Julian Holloway is the son of famous British actor Stanley Holloway, best known for playing Alfie Doolittle in the My Fair Lady motion picture. Born in 1944 in Oxfordshire, Holloway attended the renowned Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts (RADA). He quickly found a place in UK serial television, landing small roles in The Avengers, Our Man Higgins, and The Saint. By 1964, Holloway landed his first TV part, in the Beatles movie, A Hard Day’s Night. But fame came with his first Carry On picture three years later, Carry On Camel. Carry On Doctor, Carry On Up The Khyber, Carry On Camping, Carry On Loving, Carry On Henry, Carry On At Your Convenience, Carry On Christmas, and Carry On England followed.
Peppered between the movies were several West End performances, national tours, and a run of The Norman Conquests at Shakespeare’s Globe Theater. Julian Holloway continued to be a staple of UK television despite his film and theater career, making cameos in classic shows like Z Cars, The Sweeney, Porridge, and The Professionals. Like most British stars of note, he also spent time in the TARDIS. Holloway played Sergeant Paterson in the 7th Doctor story, Survival.
