After a delay of a month, updates to the Steam page of Assassin’s Creed Shadows accidentally revealed an expansion will come to the game titled Claws of Awaji. This expansion will have over ten hours of additional content according to the description of the, now hidden, passage.

“Pre-purchase now to get a bonus mission and the upcoming Claws of Awaji expansion. Travel to a new region, get over 10 hours of additional content, and unlock a new weapon type, new skills, gear, and abilities.”

The bonus mission and Claws of Awaji expansion aren’t the only additions coming to Assassin’s Creed Shadows, as Insider Gaming revealed that a co-op mode would arrive for the game, allowing two players to explore this recreation of feudal Japan with both Yasuke and Naoe.

Times are troubled for Ubisoft at present, with the delays to Assassin’s Creed Shadows speaking to a desire for the game to release at its best. Shadows received its first delay after lacklustre sales of Star Wars Outlaws, hoping to improve gameplay features. Around the same time, discussions were playing out at Ubisoft about a potential buyout. At the same time as this second delay, a press release stated that Ubisoft is looking for extra investment heading into 2025.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows will be released on March 20 for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.
