Superman fans might have to wait just a little bit longer for the second trailer for James Gunn's Superman film (the currently running CinemaCon would be a suitable possibility). In the meantime, DC has released some character posters for the Man of Steel.
They depict David Corenswet's titular character, striking some classical Superman poses. Even the suit bears some resemblance to that of the Christopher-Reeve-Superman-era from the late 70s and early 80s.

While the plot of the movie, that will reboot the DCU is still very much under wraps, the film has the following synopsis:
"In his signature style, James Gunn takes on the original superhero in the newly imagined DC universe with a singular blend of epic action, humor and heart, delivering a Superman who’s driven by compassion and an inherent belief in the goodness of humankind."
Aside from Corenswet, Superman stars Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor, Isabel Merced as Hawkgirl, Edi Gathegi as Mr. Terrific, Nathan Fillion as Guy Gardner, Sara Sampaio as Lex's assistant/lover Eve Teschmacher and Anthony Carrigan as Metamorpho. Pruitt Taylor Vince and Neva Howell will play the "adoptive" parents of Clark Kent and Milly Alcock has been cast as Supergirl. The latter will be featured in her own movie Woman of Tomorrow, to be released in June 2026 as the second film of the new DCU.

Principal shooting for Superman wrapped earlier this year when James Gunn thanked the cast and crew:
"I set out to make a movie about a good man in a world that isn’t always so much. And the goodness and kindness and love I’ve encountered on a daily basis on the set has inspired me and thrust me forward when I felt too spent to move on my own.
Thank you all from the bottom of my heart. It has been an honor. The destination has been Superman, but the journey has been the toil and the laughter and the emotions and ideas and magic we’ve shared together on set - and for that I am forever grateful."
A recent test screening for Superman left the audience reportedly with mixed reactions, which is often the case with movies of this magnitude and with a franchise with such a history as Superman.
Gunn and his crew still have a few weeks to tweak the movie until it premieres on July 11.
