First Look At David Corenswet As 'Superman'
One of the first on-set photos has been released from next year’s Superman, starring David Corsenswet in the titular role. Corsenswet is known for his previous roles in The Politician and Hollywood. In the photo, there are a lot of scuff marks and grime, making it clear that Superman is definitely working hard to keep Metropolis safe. Not much is known about the plot of Superman (previously titled Superman: Legacy) so far, except that Superman is looking to reconcile his Kryptonian ancestry with his upbringing in Smallville, Kansas.
Superman is directed and written by James Gunn, now the co-head of DC Studios alongside Peter Safran. Rachel Brosnahan (The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel) plays Lois Lane and Nicholas Hoult (Skins and X-Men) plays Lex Luthor. Other key cast members include Anthony Carrigan, Nathan Fillion, Edi Gathegi, Skyler Gisondo, and Isabela Merced. Some of these, including Nathan Fillion as the Green Lantern, will continue their characters’ arcs in other upcoming DC Studios productions.
