Giancarlo Esposito Joins Cast Of 'Captain America: Brave New Word'
The next installment to the standalone Captain America films, Brave New World has entered a phase of reshoots with new content. According to The Hollywood Reporter, actor Giancarlo Esposito has been added to the cast list with this new content. His role is currently unnamed, it is said to be a villainous one. Esposito has an extensive acting career, known for roles in The Boys, The Mandalorian, Harley Quinn, and several Maze Runner movies, among many others. The exact plot of Brave New World is being kept tightly under wraps, but Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige has described it as a “relatively grounded action film” with “no aliens, no alien invasions, [and] no time travel.”
The release date for Captain America: Brave New World was set for the end of July 2024 before being pushed back to February 14, 2025. The film will see the return of Anthony Mackie as Sam Wilson/Captain America, Carl Lumbly as Isaiah Bradley, and Danny Ramirez as Joaquin Torres, and brings on Harrison Ford as Thaddeus ‘Thunderbolt’ Ross. Other cast members include Shira Haas, Liv Tyler, Tim Blake Nelson, and Colby Lopez. The director of the film is Julius Onah.

This is the first time Sam Wilson has fully embraced the Captain America title since The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. The series followed Wilson and Bucky Barnes in a post-Blip world as they worked together to handle the escalating threat posed by the Flag Smashers. It culminated in Wilson accepting the mantle of Captain America and making it his own. It can be streamed on Disney+.
