Jude Law Talks 'Star Wars: Skeleton Crew'
Jude Law has been spilling the beans on Skeleton Crew on the press circuit in preparation for the launch of the new series. The full name of his new character has been revealed as Jod Na Nawood. Everything released so far (footage, trailer, series name) has given the impression that Skeleton Crew will be a pirates in space kind of deal. So, despite using the force in the trailer, it’s more likely that Jod will be Long John Silver-inspired than a Jedi. “Conflicted” is how Law describes him, and that’s right in Jude Law’s wheelhouse, who grew up worshipping Star Wars antiheroes. “I always wanted to be Han. Well, it depended on the game. I probably wanted to be Vader sometimes as well.”
This is not the first role in which Law has worked closely with children. One of his early works, A.I Artificial Intelligence starred famous child actor Hayley Joel Osment, and in 2023, Law was in another Disney product with a young cast, Peter Pan & Wendy.

Law embraces seeing Star Wars from a kid’s viewpoint. “My relationship with this world was as a child, and I love the idea that we see it in this series through their eyes. There's a wonderment to it.” Jude Law also talks about how light-hearted the shoot was and, at the same time, praises the professionalism of the younger actors. “There were great moments where they reminded me not to take myself or it too seriously, but equally moments of real application, real skill.”
With nothing but good reports coming back from the set, we can’t wait to see the first two episodes when they drop on 3rd December 2024.
