Marvel Games Has Announced A New Partnership With EA To Develop Games For Console And PC

“I am Iron Man.” Soon, gaming fans of the Iron Man franchise will get a taste of what being Iron Man might be like. Marvel Games tweeted on Monday, October 31 that they are teaming up with Entertainment Arts to develop multiple action-adventure games with Iron Man up first and currently in development.

EA put out a press release detailing the collaboration between Marvel and EA. The deal will be stretched out over a long term and will guarantee at least three games with Iron Man being in current development by Motive Studios. Each game will have an original story on the MCU timeline. Iron Man will be a single-player, third-person playing experience. “Developed in collaboration with Marvel, the Iron Man game will feature an original narrative that taps into the rich history of the character, channeling the complexity, charisma, and creative genius of Tony Stark, and enabling players to feel what it’s like to truly play as Iron Man” (Entertainment Arts).

Reuters reports that “the new games will be available on both consoles and PC, EA said, in a deal that gives it access to one of the most valuable companies in entertainment, mainly due to the success of films based on characters from Marvel comics” (Reuters). EA has partnered with the Walt Disney Company to develop games based on Star Wars as well.
