Microsoft Announce New Developer Direct, Featuring Three Known Titles And One Surprise

After those of the industry speculated that Microsoft would hold a third Developer Direct this January, one has been confirmed for January 23. The announcement reveals those games releasing in 2025 that will be shown off, but only three of the four the event will hold. The fourth remains a mystery, and will likely remain so until the event. Officially, anyway. Since leaks are likely to spoil the surprise.
Of those games that have been revealed to be part of this 2025 Developer Direct, Compulsion Games will be revealing more about South of Midnight. id Software is bringing new information on DOOM: The Dark Ages. And Sandfall Interactive shows off more of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33.
As for this surprise, it is said to be a brand-new game. Whether that means one that is known of but yet to have information revealed about it, or a completely unknown entity, is going to be something speculated on until the event happens. If the brand new game is one from Xbox Game Studios, it could be Rare’s Everwild finally being revealed.
Microsoft’s 2025 Developer Direct will take place on January 23, at 10:00 PT / 13:00 ET. It will be live on the Xbox YouTube and Twitch accounts.
