One Of The MCU's Best Villains Making A Comeback In 'Avengers: Doomsday'

The MCU is currently building toward its next Avengers outing with Doomsday. The cast continues to expand as Marvel announces more actors attached to the film. As part of the reveal of most of the cast a few days ago, Tenoch Huerta Mejía’s name was on one of the chairs the camera would pan around. Marvel has now confirmed that Namor will play a role in the events of Doomsday.

Despite not having a role in events of the MCU since Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, Huerta Mejía will bring the villain face to face with the Fantastic Four, Ant-Man, Captain America, and Thor. Letitia Wright’s Shuri, taking on the mantle of Black Panther, is also appearing in Doomsday. Namor has some history from the comics with some of those he will be facing off against.

During the Silver Age of Marvel Comics, Namor appeared in Fantastic Four #4 in 1962. Swearing vengeance on the surface world, Namor’s appearances would see a romantic rivalry build between him and Reed Richards for the attention of Sue Storm. If this can be included in Doomsday, it would make for an interesting confrontation. Especially depending on how the relationship between Reed Richards and Sue Storm develops in The Fantastic Four: First Steps.
