As The Mandalorian Season 3 finale airs on Disney+, the series has captivated audiences, and the proof is in the numbers from Nielsen Ratings.

Back in March, when the series was in full swing, The Mandalorian earned the record for the second-most streamed show, with only Netflix’s Outer Banks surpassing the Star Wars series. The Mandalorian accumulated over 3.6 billion viewing minutes in the month, while Outer Banks took in 4.3 billion. Netflix’s You trailed both shows with 3.6 billion viewing minutes. This is an impressive accomplishment, as streaming and general TV viewing trends lower during the month of March.

Nielsen tracks only what shows are watched without dividing them by season. So, the uptick in viewership could have been fans watching the latest episodes or superfans rewatching the entire series to compile theories before the finale. Many Star Wars fans will be invested in the various Disney+ series as Lucasfilm announced the culmination of these stories in a future film.

The first three seasons of The Mandalorian are available to stream on Disney+. Jon Favreau has already written the script for season 4 and confirmed the new season is a go, so fans won’t have to wait much longer to see Din Djarin and Grogu reunited for a new adventure.
