The Nintendo Switch Successor Reveal Outlined In New Leak, Including A Date For Later This Week
If everything is correct, we may be seeing something this week. The latest rumor is that the successor to the Nintendo Switch has just been leaked and that it’s going to be revealed sometime this week, January 16. This will be followed by a software-focused direct, according to the reports. Video Game Chronicle has appeared to corroborate this report, as has Tom Warren from The Verge. The leaker was “Nate the Hate”, and IGN has reached out to Nintendo for any confirmation. Nate alleges that the “Switch 2” will be released in May or June 2025, with several titles planned for the system.
Of course, we need to remind people that rumors are not always true, and something like this can be faked. Until Nintendo themselves give us a clear response, we can’t be sure that any of this is real. So don’t be surprised this Thursday if nothing happens. Still, if this is true, then it’s something a lot of people have been waiting for, as rumors have spread about the Nintendo Switch successor for at least a year. Here’s hoping that whenever the Nintendo Switch does get a successor, it’ll be sooner rather than later. Until then, watch out for false rumors.
