What If ‘Longlegs’ And ‘The Monkey’ Director Made A ‘Star Wars’ Project?

Osgood “Oz” Perkins has become synonymous with horror thanks to the massive success of his 2024 film LONGLEGS and his 2025 film The Monkey. Oz’s take on horror is unique and brings audiences into the film in ways that most horror films don’t.
So, what if he were to make Star Wars content? During a Reddit AMA, Oz was asked by a fan what story he would tell if he had an unlimited budget and cutting edge technology. He responded; “The collected dreams and nightmares of Darth Vader told as short stories.” This idea would breathe new life into a fan favorite character, but would also finally usher horror content into the Star Wars galaxy.

Fans have been begging Lucasfilm and Disney to make Star Wars horror content, but so far the studios have kept their distance from the idea. With Oz’s current popularity and interest in making Star Wars content, now would be the perfect time for them to give fans what they want.
Disney has been seeing success with anthology series thanks to Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi, Star Wars: Tales of the Empire, and the first two seasons of Star Wars: Visions. The idea of a live-action horror anthology series seems to perfectly align with where the franchise is right now.
